“Question to a Master” is a video performance that follows the body movements from John Baldessari’s “I am making art” videotape. The video intends to touch upon the change that happened around 50 years ago and how we perceive art now. It compares the mindsets during the early deconstruction period to the post-deconstruction period, and also, how time/age changes the way of thinking among individuals.

As an art student, I believe, this video summarizes the life of an art student as well. A period where you desperately try to understand what makes something art and if what you are doing could be considered art. By making the same movements as him, a master, am I making art?!
