Interstellar

(cinema - image - book)

Printed photo book (170 pages)
A5 size, 2022

Instead of considering cinema as a final destination for drawings, songs, stories, videos, music etc., can we make a cinema itself the raw material for another art-making process?

This book has happened to explore the relationship between the structures of cinema, images and books. Can a cinema be converted/translated into other forms?

Instead of running the cinemas solely with the pre-set conditions, can it be made more participatory? Is there a way to customize a cinema? Can a viewer get to decide on the screenplay?

How much a cinema depends on visuals and what happens if we remove all the music and dialogue from it? What happens if we remove the time aspect of cinema?

Interstellar, a book, is a result of exploring many such questions with whatever I had access to at the time.
