Video projection along with physical work and digital print, 10’×8’×1’, 2022

“Here Here Here” follows the same structure as Joseph Kosuth’s “One and Three Chairs” to suggest a possible philosophical argument of the time with an independent physical work, a physical print of a digital work and a digital video projection. It's a collective work of 3 individual works, the iterations of an idea, each with the repetitive statement “Can you see that I am right here?”

With the multiple versions of an idea coming together, creating a chaos of ‘here’s, I believe a question is raised to introspect - where do we really exist nowadays?!

‘Here’, the same sentence is used multiple times, overlapping each other to hide a part of the sentence and/or to connect other parts of the sentence. With just hiding a word, the question turns into a sentence, then to a statement, becomes authoritative, argumentative, becomes humble somewhere, questions itself, seeks help, and changes itself continuously just like all of us. The language play among the generated hundreds of sentences makes it harder to see the exact intent here. How is it/how are we being perceived collectively remains mysterious in both cases.

Isn't it amusing to see how we play digital hide and seek now? Being online itself is a game... showing the presence, hiding the presence, partly showing/hiding, seeking the hidden, and searching among various other things! Here, I invite the viewers to seek the hidden. What am I? Where is here? What to see? Can you see? Can you see that right here?

As an idea can have many forms, I would like to make this work an installation in an open space. The words "Can you see that I am right here?" are to be made in neon lights. These words will be preprogrammed to switch ON and OFF to make different sentences from a single sentence. Kind of anxious to see people engaging with it roaming around the words "Can you see that I am right here?" taking selfies, photos and whatnot to add an additional layer of meaning to the work.
